This is a beautiful hotel so much history restored to its glory! A wonderful indoor pool and spa. It’s a big hotel high ceilings lots of space very big rooms. Good breakfast lovely staff. I had a twin room which was huge I really do not understand in all that space you put the beds together I couldn’t separate them.

I'm very sorry to be rating only three stars but unfortunately this hotel is well below a 5 star standard. I've been to other 5 star hotels in Portugal and this one didn't even come close. The spa consisted only of a Turkish bath and a underwhelmingly small pool (nowhere near a five star hotel spa) Rooms and common areas had a cheap pseudo-minimalist IKEA look (furniture, floors, cupboards) and had a host of shortcomings. Also here there is a lot to improve upon. The staff were all very corteus and helpful however not everyone was well trained, yet. The common areas were all very clean and well kept (it's a very new hotel). For breakfast there was a wide selection of items (local, fresh, and international); this has been the bestpart of the stay. In conclusion, a beautiful historic building with significant room for improvement.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Montebelo Mosteiro de Alcobaça. The modern yet cozy design created a welcoming atmosphere. The gym, pool, and spa facilities were top-notch, offering relaxation and wellness. Breakfast was a delicious highlight, featuring a variety of tasty options.
